Updated: Nov 25, 2021

Take a look at these cities and see if they are on your bucket list.

While places like Paris and Hawaii will always be favorite destinations for travelers, we want to highlight six cities everyone will be visiting next year that may not have been on your list of must-go places — until now.

#6 Sicily, Italy

A trip to Italy needs to be on your bucket list if you love to travel. But we want to point you in a different direction than the places people commonly go, including Rome and Florence. Sicily is a southern Italian island that feels like a land time forgot, full of charming villages and breathtaking scenery. And since various empires inhabited the land at one point or another, there is a lot of diverse history there.

Hotspots: Sicily is known for the Valley of the Temples, where you can see the remains of seven Greco–Roman temples, each dedicated to a different god from Greek mythology. The capital of Sicily is Palermo, which offers ancient architecture and bustling markets. And Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano, is also worth a visit.

When to Go: Summertime is the best time to go, but the warm weather lasts until as late as November.
