Here are some tips for getting through airport security and customs. We all would love to get on and off the plane to get on our way as quickly as possible, so here are a few tips to help.

TSA Pre-Check

TSA Pre-Check is an expedited security screening program for low risk travelers who are departing from an airport within the US. For an $85 fee, which is valid for five years, enrolled travelers enjoy a better travel experience by not having to remove shoes, laptops, liquids, belts or light jackets . Available at more than 200 airports.

Global Entry

Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for preapproved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. For a $100 fee, which is valid for 5 years, program members also receive TSA pre-check benefits, Available at more than 50 states airports.

Automated Passport Control (APC)

APC is a CBP program that expedited the entry process for U.S. Citizens /lawful permanent residents, Canadians, returning Visa Waiver Program and eligible Visa travelers through the use of self-service kiosks to submit their Customs declaration form and biographic information. APC is a free service and does not require preregistration or membership. Available at more than 40 airports.



Mobile Passport Control (MPC)

MPC is a CBP smartphone or table app that expedites the entry process for U.S. Citizens and Canadian travelers. Through the use of the app, travelers submit their Customs declaration form and passport information prior to CBP inspection. MPC is a free service, and its app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App store or Google Play Store. Available at 24 Airports.


International to International (ITI) Baggage

ITI Baggage is a CBP Program that does not require travelers to claim their checked baggage for CBP inspection if the travelers is transiting the U.S. from one non-U.S. airport to another non-U.S. airport. This program is in a pilot phase and thus only available in select U.S. airports. Available at ATL and DTW.
